At 4MMP Conservatoire, we are committed to equipping our students with cutting-edge technology that fosters innovation and drives creative growth in audio production. We’re thrilled to announce an exciting upgrade to our 5.1 mixing studio, designed specifically to support the next generation of audio engineers and sound designers.

The newly revamped 5.1 studio now features Yamaha HS5 monitors across the five main channels, paired with a Scarlett 18i20 audio interface, offering a clear, detailed sound that’s essential for creating immersive soundscapes. Our Yamaha HS8 monitors, previously dedicated to stereo mixing, continue to deliver unmatched clarity for 2.1 projects alongside the Apollo Twin interface. This state-of-the-art setup provides our students with an authentic and precise listening experience, preparing them for professional projects in music, film, and multimedia.
What Makes This Upgrade Special?
The Yamaha HS series, including the HS5 monitors in the 5.1 setup, is highly regarded for its flat frequency response and precise audio reproduction. These qualities are crucial for audio engineers who need accurate sound for making confident, informed mixing decisions. With these tools, our students gain hands-on experience in surround sound mixing, honing critical skills for fields like cinema, gaming, and high-end music production. Our studio’s enhanced acoustics and high-quality speakers enable students to work with true-to-source monitoring, providing a solid foundation for creative exploration.
What This Means for Our Audio Engineering Students
With access to our upgraded 5.1 studio, students can now dive into the complexities of immersive sound design, experiment with surround mixes, and master the art of spatial audio. Whether they’re crafting soundtracks for film, producing music, or mixing for live performances, this setup gives students the tools and environment to bring their creative visions to life.
As technology continues to shape the future of the audio industry, we’re proud to offer an educational environment where students can learn, innovate, and push the boundaries of sound. We’re excited to see—and hear—the remarkable projects our audio engineering students will create with this new setup!
Stay tuned to our blog for more updates on our programs and facilities, and hear directly from our students as they explore this exciting new chapter in audio production.
